A similar piece to my pitch is Peter Dench piece The British Abroad
Peter Dench best known for his decade of work documenting England. He breaks the subject down into manageable sections with a specific theme. He graduated from the University of Derby with a degree in Photographic Studies in 1995 and has been working as a photojournalist since 1998.
Dench created photojournalism pieces based on britsh experince, he spent the spring-summer of 2012 to 2013 in biza, Ayia Napa, Magaluf and Sunny Beach in Bulgaria taking photohrpahys of tourists – brits aborad showing the stereotypical british behaviour abroad.
Peter said this on the process of shooting –
Life can at times be limiting and disappointing. When you’ve saved up all year for a week in the sun, sometimes, all you can do as a Brit abroad, is book into a cheap hotel, fasten on your highest heels, pull up your shortest shorts (men just pull up your shorts), stick a coloured straw in a fishbowl full of Rushkinoff Vodka, turn on and turn up ‘Play Hard’ by David Guetta (featuring Ne-Yo and Akon), put your hands in the air, and wave them them like you just don’t F**king care, because next week you’ll be back in Wigan. I spent a couple of mornings patrolling Magaluf beach with a security guard called George, who patrols it seven days a week, five months a year. I did ask him ‘who gives you the most problems?’ And he said the British, closely followed by the Finns. There’s a stoicism to us Brits, yet a can-do attitude. An optimism, if times are tough people tend to reflect what they’ve done, what they need to do to survive, a get on with it kind of attitude.
