For this weeks task we had to head into the city of Leeds and find a subject to take pictures of and interview for an article about living in Leeds.
I found this task very difficult I felt I didn’t have the confidence to go up to people and ask them for photos and interview them by myself. Often when I would approach people they would say ‘No thank you’ before I could even finish asking them if they would like to take part. This is a part of the module I would very much like to improve on because I would have liked to have been able to take pictures of more wide-ranging subjects and interview more people to be able to get a really interesting story. Also, the weather was hindering to the task as it would occasionally start raining very heavily therefore people didn’t want to stop in the street. I went out earlier the next day closer to Hyde Park and found a student that was bubbly and outgoing and more than happy to take some pictures and be interviewed, she was confident in front of the camera which was really helpful, she told me about some rainbow sunglasses she had just purchased for a festival so we also took some photos with those. She gave some interesting answers to the interview; coming from a small village meant moving to a big city was a big life change for her and she found it really hard to settle at first but has grown to love Leeds.
